IVF Cycle #4... It's a Go!!!!!

Dear Hope,

Today was a big day! I went for blood work this morning and later my nurse called to say that I could start the Lurpon injections. I counted down the hours to when I could do the shot… I never thought I would be so excited to stick myself in the stomach with a needle but it means we are starting! I am taking it one day at a time and hoping and praying this is our final cycle. I feel as though I have put my “time” in and have learned many valuable life lessons throughout this whole process but now I AM READY!!!! It’s my turn to get pregnant and experience motherhood. The small glimpse I got with my 1^st pregnancy was so amazing. It was the happiest I have ever been in my life and I was so badly to feel that again. So… it will happen this time, it just has to!!!!

My IVF Stats:

1st Cycle: 13 eggs retrieved, 11 mature, 3 fertilized- day 3 transfer of 2 embryos (last 1 pushed out to day 6 but didn’t make it)

~Egg Retrieval- 5/19/10 ~Transfer – 5/22/10 ~Positive Pregnancy Test- 6/2/10 ~Miscarriage/D&C- 7/30/10

2nd Cycle: 10 eggs retrieved, 7 mature, 5 fertilized - day 6 transfer of 1 remaining embryo (but didn’t implant)

~Egg Retrieval – 10/12/10 ~Transfer – 10/18/10

3rd Cycle: 12 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 6 fertilized - day 6 cyrofreeze of 1 remaining embryo

(PGD test confirms genetically normal)

~Egg Retrieval – 12/9/10 ~Cryopreservation of 1 embryo – 12/14/10

4th Cycle: 20 eggs retrieved, 16 mature, 10 fertilized - day 6 - 0 made to freeze(day 3- all 10 embryos, day 5- 4 embryos day 6- 0 embryos made it)

~Egg Retrieval – 2/11/11

5th Cycle: 12 eggs retrieved, 8 mature, 7 fertilized

(PGD test confirms both embryos genetically normal)

~Egg Retrieval - 4/11/11 ~ Cryopreservation of 2 embryos - 4/17/11

Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)
~ 2 embryos - 6/6/11
